What is the difference between wingsurfing and wingfoiling?
Both wingsurfing and wingfoiling use a wing which has an inflatable leading edge and strut or boom to drive you along. The wing is free of the board and held in your hands allowing you to adjust the wing to the wind to power up or de power while you are standing on the board.
Wingsurfing is when you are using the wing on a plain board or stand-up paddleboard to comfortably learn and master how to use the wing and get yourself powering across the wind. Whereas wingfoiling is when you use a board with a hydrofoil (an underwater fin with a flat or curved wing-like surface) attached to it, taking what you have learnt wingsurfing and applying it to these smaller boards and getting foiling.
Take part in our winging courses to learn (no prior experiences needed) or hire our equipment from trusted supplier RRD (after proving your capabilities), to try your hand at this addictive sport.
