At Mark Warner, we offer the opportunity to learn scuba dive, improve or just enjoy your scuba diving on holiday at a number of our beach resorts across the Med. At Paleros and Kamari Beach Resorts scuba diving courses and lessons are provided on-site by InDepth and are pre-bookable through the website or by calling our travel experts. Check out the course details below.

At our Aeolian Village Beach Resort, scuba courses and lessons are provided on-site by Black Rock Diving and also are pre-bookable through the website or by calling our travel experts.

If you are staying at Phokaia, we have a local scuba diving provider in Turkey, who have a similarly broad offer of dives and courses available for guests to book and join once they arrive on holiday. 

PADI or SSI (Scuba Schools International) Certified Courses

All our providers are fully registered to deliver either PADI or SSI (Scuba Schools International) certified courses. 

If diving isn’t your thing, but you love exploring the ocean, the diving schools often also run snorkelling sessions. After learning the basics in the pool, they’ll take you on a half day boat trip to explore the best local snorkelling spots. 

Scuba Diving Fitness Requirements

Your safety is important so if you would like to take part in scuba diving, you will need to be able to swim at least 200 metres and be medically fit. When you book a dive course, Mark Warner will pass your contact details to the specialist companies, Indepth or Black Rock who run the courses at our resorts. They in turn will contact you before travel regarding your medical requirements and any course literature or manuals.

PADI courses for adults

We work with local scuba diving schools at our Aeolian Village, Paleros, Kamari and Phokaia Beach Resorts, all of whom offer a varied mix of courses and dives for adults and children from 10 years upwards in Greece and from 15 years upwards in Turkey. 

At Paleros and Kamari Beach Resorts scuba diving courses and lessons are provided on-site by our partner diving School InDepth. Our partner Black Rock Diving provide courses and lessons at our Aeolian Village Beach Resort.

The PADI dive courses 'Discover Scuba Diving' and 'PADI Scuba Diver' courses can be pre-booked in the UK through the website or by calling our travel experts.  All courses booked in resort are subject to local taxes, and are therefore more expensive. All courses take place during childcare hours, so you will always be back in time to collect your children.

Scuba Diving manuals and certificates

Manuals are mandatory for all PADI courses and can be pre-purchased in the UK or purchased in resort. A certification fee is applicable for your course.

Discover Scuba Diving

If you want to try scuba diving but aren't quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, this introduction course is for you.

The course covers the theory of diving. You’ll learn to use the equipment in the hotel pool and then experience a dive in open water. Your instructor will be by your side at all times. If you wish to progress your diving further, completing this course will count towards the PADI Open Water Diver qualification. 

The course is bookable in resort and subject to local taxes.

PADI Scuba Diver course

If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating may be right for you. This course is an intermediate step to earning an Open Water Diver certification. 

The Scuba Diver course runs across two days and includes three hours of theory, three pool dives and two open water sea dives. This course can be pre-booked in the UK is designed to be completed within childcare times.  For Phokaia, the SSI version of this course will need to be booked with the local dive school in resort.

There is an additional charge to PADI for the eLearning material including online manual and certification card. Cost is approximately £85 to be paid to the dive centre.

PADI Open Water Diver course

The PADI open water diver course is one of the most popular and widely recognised scuba courses in the world.

Theory and diving skills are developed in the pool. When your instructor is confident that you're ready, you'll have four training dives in open water. You'll be awarded with a certificate of achievement upon completion of the course, which is pre-bookable in the UK and is designed to be completed within childcare times. For Phokaia, this course will need to be booked with the local dive school in resort. 

There is an additional charge to PADI for the eLearning material including online manual and certification card. Cost is approximately £85 to be paid to the dive centre.

Suitable for qualified open water divers, this course enables you to improve your diving skills and progress to be a qualified advanced diver. A choice of adventure dives are taken on this course, these include deep dives, navigation or night dives. The course is only bookable in Resort.

PADI Adventure Diver certification

This course is perfect for those wanting to have fun, learn new skills and gain experience with an instructor without committing to the full advanced course. Choose three dives from the Advanced course for Adventure Diver certification, then credit them towards your Advanced Open Water course in the future.

Course content

The Adventure Diver course takes only one day, with three dives from the shore. Choose from Digital Underwater Photography, Fish Identification, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery (over 12s), Underwater Naturalist or Underwater Navigation. The course is only bookable in Resort.

PADI Scuba Review

If you’re a certified diver and it’s been a while since your last dive, then this programme is for you. It will reacquaint you with diving and is a recommended course to anyone who hasn’t dived for six months or more. It takes just three hours.

The course starts with a self-study workbook for you to read through, complete and then get tested on in a short quiz. After that, you’ll review your diving skills with your guide in the pool for about an hour. Next, you’ll enjoy a beautiful and tranquil dive in the Aegean Sea with your indepth dive guide. When you complete the training programme, your logbook will be updated for verification purposes. The course is only bookable in Resort.

This fun course is a chance for kids to blow bubbles by scuba diving, taking their first breaths underwater under the direct care and supervision of PADI instructors. Book in resort.

PADI Seal Team

This course takes four hours over two half days and is action packed with aqua missions, like taking pictures and using navigation equipment. The course is swimming pool based.

Part one

Aqua missions one to five teach children the basics of diving, including buoyancy control, mask clearing and regulator recovery. After building a solid foundation of scuba skills, children move on to part two.

Part two

Full of specialty aqua missions (approx. one hour).

Snorkelling

With our PADI Instructors, learn how to snorkel comfortably and safely. Starting in the swimming pool with an easy introduction to the basics of breathing safely through the snorkel, water-clearing methods and duck-diving. Once you’ve gained some confidence, we’ll take you for an exploratory snorkel in the calm, clear seas.
