Ski Holidays Children Clubs, Childcare Holidays, Childrens ski school

4 to 11 months inclusive

Held in our bright, toy-filled, in house crèches, the baby club is for our tiniest guests. The club runs six days a week from 9am to 5.30pm. We try to ensure that each keyworker looks after no more than two babies and that children have the same keyworker all week. Where possible we will keep  to your baby's usual routine for naps, milk and feeds.

1 to 2 years inclusive

Located alongside the baby club, this club provides stimulating play for toddlers, whether they are walkers or crawlers.  Where possible your child will have have the same nanny all week. 

Not available at the  Rosanna, Tovière, Moris and Cristallo.

 3 to 5 years inclusive

Children aged 3-5 years enjoy a fun-packed programme of activities six days of the week. Indoors, there are arts and crafts, face painting and games. Outdoor excitement might include cable-car rides and snowman-building.  We are happy to arrange either full day or half-day ski school for 4 to 5 year olds, with drop-off and collection by the childcare staff.  For those who are keen to get their little ones on the slopes early, the snowman kindergarten in La Plagne teaches children from 3 years of age.

6 - 12 years

The Kidz Club runs during the week from 9am to 6.30pm* and until 1pm on Saturdays, this club is for 6-12 year old skiers and non-skiers. Skiers are taken to and collected from ski school by our childcare team in the mornings and afternoons, and join the other children in the Chalethotel for lunch. Non-skiers spend the day enjoying a range of indoor and outdoor activities such as treasure hunts, tobogganing and hot chocolate trips, with skiers joining in the fun after their lessons.

Not available at the Rosanna, Moris and Cristallo. 

Available at the Tovière during the main school holidays only when children aged 7yrs+ are welcome.

*After high tea our childcare team organise games and activities until 6.30pm

Equipment for children

Chalethotels that offer childcare supply travel cots and linen, bottle sterilisers, nappy changing facilities and potties.  Nappies, processed baby foods and powdered milk can all be purchased locally, but if you child is used to a particular brand, we suggest you bring you own supplies.

Children aged 2 years and over will be allocated a bed.  Please be advised that children under the age of 6 years can not be accommodated in a top bunk bed.

Please bring your own pushchairs, feeding bottles, processed or formula baby food, bibs, wet wipes, high factor sun cream, a small named rucksack for your child's belongings during the day, plus any other special equipment your baby may need. 24-hour kitchen facilities are available in all the Chalethotels which offer childcare. Please see our checklist further down.

Drop in crèche

The drop-in crèche service operates from 7:30pm until 11:00pm and allows you to drop off children aged 4 months to 10 years old at our supervised crèche where they will be entertained with films, games etc or sleep in a designated quiet area. Parents must remain within the chalethotel, enabling staff to quickly locate them. Parents will be asked to take responsibility if their child awakes

Babysitting

Extra baby-sitting can be arranged through the Head Nanny at €15 an hour. Whilst every effort is made to accommodate requests, this service is subject to limited staff availability and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Dining out service

On the "Dining out" night we provide a "drop in" service in the crèche. Our childcare team will supervise your children whilst you dine out and you can pick them up on your return. Parents are invited to bring their children to the crèche from 7.30pm and can collect them as late as 11.00pm .

Children's mealtimes

Our childcare team are well aware that dealing with children's food preferences can be tricky. They work with the chefs to make sure that there is always plenty of choice, including a vegetarian option.

Breakfast: Children to be supervised by parents.

Lunch: Children booked into childcare clubs will be provided with lunch at the chalethotel. This is supervised by the childcare staff.

High Tea: At 5pm a supervised high tea is served for the younger children.

Early dinner: During school holidays an early dinner is served at 7pm.

Parents are asked to supervise their children at all mealtimes unless their child is booked into one of the childcare clubs where a member of the childcare staff will supervise.

If your child is used to a particular brand of nappy, milk or formula milk, we suggest you bring your own as it may not be available locally.  For hygiene reasons, we ask that all children who are not toilet trained, use aqua nappies at the Chalethotels Bérangère and Le Val d'Isère pools.

Making learning fun

Learning is always easier when it's fun, and especially when it includes snow! In our resorts we've selected the best ski schools, all with friendly, English speaking instructors, so your children can relax and enjoy finding their feet on the mountain.

We have places reserved in all our recommended ski schools. As spaces are limited it's essential to book early, particularly during school holidays.

Step 1

Book your lessons in advance, ideally when you book your holiday, to secure a place.

Step 2

On arrival day, a ski school representative will visit your chalethotel to discuss which class is best for your child. Depending on the resort and the child's age, classes run for full or half days. Children usually start ski school at 4 to 5 years old.

Step 3

Have fun! Lessons are lightly structured in small groups. At the end of the week pupils are presented with an award and a certificate to celebrate their progress.
